PU - POLYURETHANE

POLYURETHANE (PU)

DESCRIPTION

Polyurethane is substantial importance in modern seal technology.
Our polyurethane materials range from shore A hardness 57 to 95 and are all Hydrolysis resistant – often referred to as H-PU. With a huge range of material stocks, there is no such thing as a special requiring an extended lead time. Besides standard PU materials, we also offer materials with an optimized coefficient of friction and for direct contact with foodstuffs. We offer a range of material colours to suit all APPLICATIONS.

KEY FEATURES

· Good Elasticity

· Optimised coefficient of friction

· Wide temperature range

· Mechanical stress

MAIN APPLICATIONS

Static and dynamic applications, mostly used for U-seals, wipers and packings up to 400 bar pressure in hydraulics with extreme low temperature conditions as well as in standard hydraulics. Due to its excellent hydrolysis resistance U530-B95-LT can be used in the most common hydraulic fluids and oil in water emulsions as well. It is also appropriate for applications with contact to foodstuff.

ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION

The mentioned properties are only valid for test pieces of the corresponding ISO, DIN and ASTM standards. They cannot be directly related to seals, gaskets and other sealing products and should be used only as a general guide. Contact with improper fluids might influence the application properties. The compound meets the specifications of the positive list to 21 CFR 177.2680 ‘Polyurethane resins’ of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), USA.
